I have lived permanently on the Black Isle since 1988, when I came to live with my Grandparents and attend Inverness College.
I have, however, been coming to the Black Isle since I was 18 months old and it has always been home. My teenage years were spent in Germany where I became reasonably fluent in the language. I had not used it in years, but picked it up again when I began guiding for cruise ships in the summer of 2018. I have a BA(Hons) in Gaelic Scotland with UHI focusing on language, history and culture of the Highlands and Islands and am currently studying for an Mlitt in Highlands and Islands Literature. I am interested in people and place and am particularly interested in community heritage and oral histories. I love the outdoors. I'm passionate about the past, present and future of the Highlands and have a partiuclar interest in Gaelic and Scots language. I am a shameless fan of the Outlander books. I run guided walking tours of the villages on the Black Isle as I'm keen to focus on a greener, more sustainable way of delivering tourism. We also offer driverguide tours of the Black Isle and surrounding areas. I look forward to extending a warm Highland welcome to all our visitors.
