Helen Ashcroft

I have spent all my life in the Highlands, born up North of Scotland in the county of Sutherland and lived in various places in Ross & Cromarty, the West Coast and Inverness Shire, which strongly contributes to my pride in being a Highlander.

I am a member of the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association (HOSTGA) and the Scottish Tourist Guides Association (STGA), and I am based in the Highlands. I have enhanced and combined my knowledge, interests, and passion of Scottish & local history into creating my own guiding business, Touristic Scotland.

My guiding work as a freelance qualified Tourist Driver Guide, within the Highland area of Scotland, enables me to help visitors to customise their tours, which includes Clan History and Ancestral Roots, Historical Attractions, Sightseeing, and Filming Locations, such as that of ‘Outlander.’  The choice of tour is only constrained by imagination. Touristic Scotland aims to produce itineraries that include other aspects of informative journeys throughout the Highlands, creating a bigger picture.

The tours are tailored and suitable for solo travellers, and up to a small group of 1-3, specific to meeting all interests and requirements. The ultimate goal is to share my passion and ensure that all visitors to the Highland Region have a memorable and happy time and leave Scotland with a greater understanding of the past and present of our fascinating and breath-taking region and country.

All tours are private tours, which will start at Inverness or a location of your choice. This could be at your accommodation, airport, railway station or any other point, within the Highland Region. An extra charge may be incurred if pick-up is further afield.

Please contact me to discuss your guiding requirements.
