Having lived in the Highlands, both in Wester and Easter Ross, for over thirty years, and having taken early retirement from music teaching, I am enjoying using my knowledge of the Highlands by introducing visitors to local places of interest. Day Coach and half-day; Driver Guiding

Specialities: Driver Guide, Castles, Prehistory
I have a great interest in the early Celtic peoples of Scotland and that romantic era before the Battle of Culloden when clan chiefs controlled the Highlands. My specialities are castles, battle sites and clan lands. I wrote the guidebook for Dunnottar Castle and the Colin Baxter book on Clans and Tartans. Having spent many years in the Highlands, I now live in the Borders and provide driver/guiding all over Scotland. Winter months are spent arranging holidays for those visiting their clan lands or staying in Scottish castles. I write an occasional blog: Living with Clans and Castles.

Day Coach, Extended Coach, Driver Guiding

The Highlands have been my home for nearly twenty years following many years working and travelling in foreign parts. Trained as an accountant I now have the pleasure of teaching English and French and showing my wild and beautiful country to visitors. I live in a paradise with the mountains and moorland to look over me and the birds and the animals to keep me company. Let me show you Scotland.

Ulrike Davies CPD
Based in : City of Inverness
Languages spoken : GERMAN, English

½ day / 1 day / extended / year-round / driver-guiding

The North East of Scotland has been my home since 1984. I moved here from Germany, my native country, being attracted by Scotland’s natural beauty and remoteness. Although I am an engineer by profession, I prefer working with people and have been intensely involved with group work in a variety of settings, here and abroad, ever since I moved here. I have travelled a lot, over extended periods of time, but always love returning home to Scotland. Here I am reminded that so many more treasures can be found right on my doorstep.

Ishbel Cameron-McAlpine CPD

½ day / 1 day / year-round

Born in the south of Scotland but brought up in the Highlands, I have been guiding since 1996. Prior to that I lived and worked in Continental Europe. So grateful to be given the opportunity to show my country to visitors and always hope that as I do, they become as “passionate” as I am about Scotland.

Marion Davidson CPD

Day / half-day tours.  Interested in Outlander.

Born and brought up in Scotland, I have lived in the North East for most of my life. Having a background in primary education and therefore being a bit of a Jack of all trades, I now enjoy meeting, welcoming and sharing my knowledge on a range of subjects with visitors to our shores. I am passionate about Scotland; its history, culture scenery and the wonderful produce that it provides. I want the people that I guide to experience the best of Scotland.  When not guiding, walking, socialising or travelling I am usually in the kitchen creating dishes with the superb larder Scotland provides.

STGA Green Badge Guide (Regional Specialist for West and North Highlands, Inner Hebrides and Moray)

Types of tour – half day, full day, extended, year-round, step-on guiding, driver guide (vehicle hired according to client requirements)

Over 20 years ago I first fell in fell in love with the Highlands, when I started working in Morayshire and Speyside. I am now based on the West Coast just a few miles from Glencoe where I live with my wife and young family. Spare time is spent exploring the hidden Highlands with the kids, clambering over ruined castles, strolling along ancient paths or finding seashells along deserted beaches.

I am delighted to explore the country I am proud to call home with visitors from around the world. Helping them discover more about its landscape, legends and history.

There is so much to offer across the Scottish Highlands and I can help individuals, small groups, coach parties, and corporate clients to discover it. Whether you are looking for city tour of Inverness, a more in-depth tour of Culloden Battlefield and the Jacobites, a day excursion around beautiful Loch Ness, or an extended trip island hopping along the West Coast, I can help with a tailor-made tour.

Stephen Cribb CPD

½ day / 1 day / extended / year-round; driver-guiding

Specialities: Landscape, History, Whisky, Geneaology, Golf

I have shared the delights of Scottish life and landscape with visitors to the country for over thirty years. As a professional geologist I began my guiding activities in the 1970’s when I led field trips and study tours to some of the most wild and beautiful places in the Highlands and Islands.
Over the next twenty years my knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of all things Scottish has made me much in demand for summer schools and lectures by some of Scotland’s Universities, both ancient and modern. Subjects ranging from whisky and water to Scottish Country Houses, Golf and Genealogy have entranced and entertained locals and visitors alike. I am a Blue Badge member of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, the only professional geologist to be fully qualified to guide throughout Scotland. I am also a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
