STGA – Green Badge-North Highlands – STGA Associated
½ day /1 day/ extended tours/ all year round

I moved to London many years ago, and I have been working as a tourist guide there ever since. I eventually expanded my offers of tours to the Highlands of Scotland following my fascination for its landscape and heritage. What I love most is the archaeology of the Highlands; I have an MA in Managing Archaeological Sites from UCL, and I have been involved as a volunteer in some excavations in Assynt (North-West of Scotland).I offer general archaeological tours, but if you are interested in a particular site, please be in touch, and I will organise your visit.

I can tailor themed walks/tours for Italian tourists and English speaking alike.

Ai turisti italiani posso offrire tours a tema, o semplicemente un assaggio delle bellezze delle Highlands: castelli, campi di battaglia, distillerie, paesaggi e luoghi famosi.

Day Coach, Driver Guiding, Wildlife Walking
Specialities: Culture, History, Music, Wildlife

Raised on the family farm on the West Coast of Scotland, I grew up with a love of the countryside and animals. Arriving in the Highlands in 1984 I started Highland Discovery Tours and since then have enjoyed showing people from all over the world Scotland’s historical landmarks along with special and lesser-known hidden places. As an experienced guide I am keen to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the Highlands, the rich natural history along with traditional & modern culture. In my spare time I love renovating properties and furniture. I am also learning my most treasured possession – the Great Highland Bagpipe (out of earshot!). I am happy to take walking groups, coach trips, either driving or just guiding and create tailor-made itineraries. I look forward to meeting with you soon! I have a full PCV [bus] licence.

A Highlander by upbringing, my working life has taken me all over the area. Formerly a careers advisor, I combine a keen interest in present day Highland social life and economy with a lifelong love of our beautiful environment and an abiding interest in its complex and fascinating history. I love welcoming people to the area and look forward to sharing some part of the Highland story/journey with you.

Half day / 1 day / year-round.

Specialities: Hiking, Nature, Scottish History.

I have lived in the Scottish highlands on and off for over 30 years. For 12 of those years I lived in Chamonix in the French Alps, for I am not only a Tour Guide, but I am also a Mountain Guide and was one of the first British woman to stand on the summit of Mount Everest. Needless to say I love mountains, but particularly Scottish ones. Wherever I travel in the world I always long to be back here, for the Scottish landscape is where my heart resides. In particular I love the Gaelic language and the way it gives meaning to the landscape through place-names, giving an insight into the people who lived on and worked this beautiful land over the centuries.

STGA Green Badge Guide (Regional Specialist for West and North Highlands, Inner Hebrides and Moray)

Types of tour – half day, full day, extended, year-round, step-on guiding, driver guide (vehicle hired according to client requirements)

Over 20 years ago I first fell in fell in love with the Highlands, when I started working in Morayshire and Speyside. I am now based on the West Coast just a few miles from Glencoe where I live with my wife and young family. Spare time is spent exploring the hidden Highlands with the kids, clambering over ruined castles, strolling along ancient paths or finding seashells along deserted beaches.

I am delighted to explore the country I am proud to call home with visitors from around the world. Helping them discover more about its landscape, legends and history.

There is so much to offer across the Scottish Highlands and I can help individuals, small groups, coach parties, and corporate clients to discover it. Whether you are looking for city tour of Inverness, a more in-depth tour of Culloden Battlefield and the Jacobites, a day excursion around beautiful Loch Ness, or an extended trip island hopping along the West Coast, I can help with a tailor-made tour.

STGA Green Badge
Half day, Full day, Extended, Year round, Step on guiding, Driver guiding.

I have lived in and loved the Scottish highlands for fifteen years. A second generation Australian, born into a long line of Scots who maintained the strong traditions and culture of Scotland. My love affair with the ancestral homeland began nearly forty years ago during a back packer holiday here. After many holidays here through the years after, I could not withstand ‘the pull’ any longer and became one of the returning diaspora in 2003. Having tour guided in Australia, Britain and Europe part time I made the move to gain my Scottish accreditation and thoroughly enjoy sharing the history and beauty of Scotland. I specialise in shore excursions from cruise ships, genealogy and research tours, Outlander tours and tours tailored to specific interests which include Scottish history, amazing mountains, glens and lochs, dramatic coastline and clan links to our turbulent history. My enduring interests are photography, travel and genealogy which I love to share with our guests!
