Specialities: Driver guide, walking, wildlife, PCV Licence holder
I have been a tour guide for almost 30 years. For 22 of these I operated my own holiday business, offering walking, wildlife and Scottish history trips – in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Ireland and south-west USA.
I speak German, French and some Dutch. I have a full (D) bus licence and so can offer driver-guided tours in almost any size of vehicle. I also offer group and individual hiking programmes including special topics such as bird-watching, wildflowers, local history, the Picts, Scottish literature, castles and gardens. My other interests include Scottish heritage, dialects and literature, photography and geology.
Day and half-day, extended, year-round
I graduated with an honours degree in German and French from Aberdeen University, during which I spent an academic year at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, and went on to teach English in Lausanne, Switzerland. On my return to Scotland, I worked in the Scottish tourism industry at national and regional levels. Since moving to the Scottish Highlands in 1995, I have been tour guiding and lecturing in tourism. I specialise in German and French speaking markets, with a primary focus on cruise ships and corporate groups. Additionally, I act as local agent for ground-handlers organising shore excursions.

The Highlands have been my home for twenty five years. Trained as an accountant I spent many years working and travelling in foreign parts. I now have the pleasure of showing my wild and beautiful country to visitors. I live in a paradise with the mountains and moorland to look over me and the birds and the animals to keep me company. Let me show you the Highlands.

Specialities: Mountain and walking guide with MLTB Certificate, PCV licence holder
Brought up in Scone, Scotland’s ancient capital, I now work out of its Highland Capital, Inverness, in summer. In winter I fly south with the ospreys and tour guide in Africa.
As a qualified mountain leader I specialise in guiding in the mountains, glens and along the coastline of the north west of Scotland. Walks vary from strenuous to gentle strolls; it is important to enjoy the countryside at your own pace.
I also driver/guide. With experience in adult education (albeit as a ceramicist!) I love to share the history, geography, fables and anecdotes of our rich heritage with our guests in Scotland.
Day and half-day tours.
Born and raised in southern Scotland, I have lived in the Highlands for more than 30 years, where I have worked for both the National Trust for Scotland (at Culloden Battlefield) and for the Highland Council, building my local knowledge and developing a keen interest in all things Highland, old and new. I have long enjoyed sharing my love of this beautiful area with visitors from different parts of the world.

Specialities: Hiking, nature & the environment, Scottish history.
I’m Scottish and have had the privilege to live in the Highlands of Scotland since 1972. I love everything about here – the fascinating and turbulent history, the varied wildlife and nature, the cultural heritage, the amazing views and landscape and, of course, the wonderful people. As a Chartered Geologist and the former Geologist for the Highlands, I am especially well placed to tell you a wee bit about our rocks and the dramatic landscapes and their origins. I’m very much a “people person” and I look forward to welcoming you and introducing you to our wonderful Highlands, our history and culture, and to showing you the natural wonders of our amazing and unspoilt environment.
Full and half-day tours, year round.
I am fortunate to be able to call the Highlands of Scotland my home. I take pride in helping guests from near and far get the most out of their time in the North of Scotland. Sometimes the small details make just as memorable an impression as the more well-known sights. Running a successful holiday accommodation business gives me the opportunity to meet and talk to visitors from many countries and to give them an insight into life and culture in the Highlands. As a French and German speaker this is always a pleasure and I guide mostly in German although English is my first language.
Food for me is one of the great joys of life and, when I can, I love to share my enthusiasm for cooking, local produce and wild food.

I live in Forres, Moray, and have lived in this area for about six years now, gathering much information of varying kinds over this time.
I am very interested in and knowledgeable about Scotland’s history and that of the Northern Highlands and Moray regions, including local historic figures like MacBeth and Alexander Stewart, the Wolf of Badenoch.
I am also a keen gardener and very knowledgeable about plants and their medicinal properties, learning more all the time.
My other interest lies in the native wildlife, both terrestrial and marine.
½ day / 1 day / year-round
Born in the south of Scotland but brought up in the Highlands, I have been guiding since 1996. Prior to that I lived and worked in Continental Europe. So grateful to be given the opportunity to show my country to visitors and always hope that as I do, they become as “passionate” as I am about Scotland.

My own love of Scotland was formed from an early age as I was brought up in some of the most beautiful and iconic locations we have to offer: from the Highlands to Edinburgh, St Andrews to celebrated Royal Deeside. And I don’t just live here– I actively choose to holiday here too, so I know the ins and outs of being a visitor in Scotland. My “past life” has also seen me work and travel extensively abroad, giving me a firm understanding of what makes or breaks a holiday whether you are part of a group or a solo traveller.
I delight in creating “the best Scottish holiday”, and would love to guide you around Scotland, giving you a unique insight into our beautiful country. I will take you to see our most stunning and dramatic scenery together with our iconic locations, while weaving in our incredible history and rich culture along the way.
I truly feel that Scotland is here for the exploring and I am delighted to extend an enthusiastic and warm welcome to you.
