I have 10 years experience of tour guiding working at home and abroad
working with all age groups, large and small.
These include all forms of guiding e.g. Welcome Services, Planning Itineraries,
Escorting Groups, Scenic railway tours, golfing groups, distilleries,
castles and gardens, historic sites, local wildlife, and working with
cruise liner tours both on shore and on board. I also arrange entertainment
packages to include traditional music, song and dance - haggis, neeps
etc!
My own interests include singing, travel, cooking, the theatre, making
knitted toys and walking with my 3 dogs . I'm a people person with a good
sense of fun!

The fascination with Scotland started as a student of
English, back in Argentina where I originally come from. Little did I
know then, that a few years later, I would be living in the heart of the
Highlands, having such a wonderful landscape at my doorstep. Since moving
here in 2002 I have been working as an interpreter for various whisky
companies which organise whisky tours as part of their PR activities.
Over the next few years, my knowledge about Scottish history and culture
increased and, being Spanish my mother tongue, I soon started guiding
Spanish-speaking groups of tourists around the area, hoping they feel
as fascinated with this wonderful place as I still do.

| I am a competent and experienced guide
having spent many years leading groups on walking holidays in the Highlands.
I was a Countryside Ranger for several years and therefore my interests
lie in the environment and wildlife. It gives me great pleasure showing
this beautiful country to visitors.
I am happy to organise and take groups/ individuals on walking holidays
in the Scottish Highlands. This could be for one day up to a week. I
have a PSV driving licence (mini-bus). I am also available for driver/guiding

| Brought up in Scone, Scotland's ancient capital, I now
work out of its Highland Capital, Inverness, in summer. In winter I fly
south with the ospreys and tour guide in Africa.
As a qualified mountain leader I specialise in guiding in the mountains,
glens and along the coastline of the north west of Scotland. Walks vary
from strenuous to gentle strolls; it is important to enjoy the countryside
at your own pace.
I also driver/guide. With experience in adult education (albeit as
a ceramicist!) I love to share the history, geography, fables and anecdotes
of our rich heritage with our guests in Scotland. |

Born and bred on a family farm then educated in Moray I
spent most of my life there although my work took me throughout the Grampian
Region. I worked for the last 33 years in different aspects of Scottish
Law. I am passionate about encouraging visitors to see and experience
the best (not necessarily the most expensive) about Scotland and our people.
I try my hand at photography, golf, curling and skiing with varying degrees
of success. I will assist with welcoming people into the area, tour guiding
and itinerary planning for 1/2 and whole day tours which can include lowland
walking or being escorted, farm and garden tours.

I was born in Inverness and was employed the Highland Council
specialising latterly in database design, retiring in 2001. Since then
I have been employed with Jacobite Cruise Inverness as a driver/guide.
For four generations my family devoted much time and energy to recording
Highland history and I have continued this interest and have had a number
of historical articles published in the local press. For 20 years I was
honorary Secretary for the Inverness Civic Trust conservation society.
I am also interested in the flora and fauna of the Highlands being, for
many years, a member of the RSPB and SOC ornithological societies. |

| I was born in Glasgow, moved to Sutherland in 1969 to work as a Ferry Skipper at Kylesku, then Corran (Fort William). In between that, I've been a Coach Driver/Courier throughout the Highlands and Islands, with more than a passing interest in clan history. I am a Life Member of the Clan Maclean and lived for six years on Mull, where I drove a coach for my Chief . I take great pleasure in describing my country to visitors and have an in-depth knowledge of the flora and fauna and the built and natural landscape. |

| I have been guiding now for very nearly twenty years –
mostly in German or English, but occasionally in French too. I prefer
to do one-day or two-day tours, here in the Highlands. Being an elected
member of the Highland Council, and being married to a Highland farmer,
I feel I have a good knowledge of the way of life, and culture of our
area. I am also keen to recount some of the history and legend of the
area, believing a good story essential to painting the picture of the
Highlands of then and now. |

| I graduated with an honours degree in German and French
from Aberdeen University, during which I spent an academic year at the
University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, and went on to teach English
in Lausanne, Switzerland. On my return to Scotland, I worked in the Scottish
tourism industry at national and regional levels. Since moving to the
Scottish Highlands in 1995, I have been tour guiding and lecturing in
tourism. I specialise in German and French speaking markets, with a primary
focus on cruise ships and corporate groups. Additionally, I act as local
agent for ground-handlers organising shore excursions. |

I have been a tour guide for almost 30 years. For 22 of
these I operated my own holiday business, offering walking, wildlife and
Scottish history trips – in the Scottish Highlands and Islands,
Ireland and south-west USA.
I speak German, French and some Dutch. I have a full (D) bus licence and
so can offer driver-guided tours in almost any size of vehicle. I also
offer group and individual hiking programmes including special topics
such as bird-watching, wildflowers, local history, the Picts, Scottish
literature, castles and gardens. My other interests include Scottish heritage,
dialects and literature, photography an geology. |

Born in rural Aberdeenshire, I was brought up with a rich
tradition of song and storytelling. I have lived in the Highlands for
twenty years and am a National Registered Storyteller and Traditional
Singer. Last year whilst guiding for a cruise I was described as "a
real Scottish woman". I enjoy sharing stories and songs that help
to enlighten visitors on our ancient history and heritage. I love the
west coast and Loch Ness and I will be storytelling on evening trips on
Loch Ness this summer as well as other tour guide work. I look forward
to meeting you.

| Originally from Offenbach/Germany, I moved to Scotland in 1994, trained with the Scottish Tour Guide Association, and have been guiding since 1995. While in the past my work predominantly comprised extended tours I now mainly guide day tours in the Highlands as well as the occasional 2-3 day tour. I am experienced in a wide variety of tours (general interest/study/agricultural etc.) and it is important to me to tailor my guiding to the groups' particular needs. I especially enjoy sharing with my groups what it is like to live in this wonderful country. |

Born in Glasgow in 1958, I was influenced by my father's
tales of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm, which filled
my imagination with huge dogs, little mermaids and gingerbread cottages.I've
always enjoyed sharing a good yarn and I test out new tales and all character
developments on my four children, who are by far my sternest critics.
While telling stories is a natural asset fro a tour guide, it is not enough
to be able to talk for eight hours on a coach. I have completed training
under the auspices of the HIE and hold the Welcome Host certificate for
customer relations. With a wide interest in both Scottish history and
geography, I have tried to use life experiences to develop a style of
touring which is both factual, when necessary, and also entertaining. |

|
| Born and brought up in Cromarty, I attended the local HG
School (that dates me!), and then went to Invergordon Academy. Jointly
owning the Cromarty-Invergordon mail service with my father, led to early
links with a tour group, in the 1950's called the 'Holiday Fellowship'
who use to charter our ferries for pleasure sailing and wildlife trips
in the Moray Firth to watch dolphins!
I ran my boat alone at age 14, now you need a Master's Certificate
to sail the Cromarty Firth! Moving house, after marriage took me to
the Cawdor area where I became involved at Culloden Battlefield as Assistant
Warden, then later at Cawdor Castle as the Estate Ranger. In 1985 my
career changed course back to the sea, and I joined the RNLI as Fund
Raising Organiser Scotland (North) a post I held until 1997 when I had
to retire, because of "the retire at 60" rule, within the
Service.
So what next? A return to my roots -- back to the Cromarty Firth as
a Trained Guide -- to luxury liners - 50yrs after my own ferry!

| I was born in the Highlands and know the area and its people extremely well. I have worked extensively in the Tour Guiding business for the past ten years in the following ways:
coach and rail tours,
day and extended tours,
golf tours,
meet and greet,
walking and camping tours,
tour planning.
I was previously a Teacher and a Director of Leisure Services. I am presently studying Gaelic Language and Culture.
I commentate at Highland Gatherings and perform on the stage as a compere, comedian and actor.
I aim to guide in a style which is both informative and entertaining and thus give my customers an enjoyable and, hopefully, memorable experience.

I am Lowlander by birth but a Highlander by inclination. I started my guiding career in 1995 with two years at Aigas Field Centre, just outside Inverness. I continued guiding groups in my various jobs after that. I moved back to the Highlands in 2005 and in March 2006 I started Red Kite Tours.
My main interest is wildlife guiding, but soon after I started guiding I realised no wildlife in Scotland lives beyond the influence of people. So I needed to understand the history, folklore, geology and place names of the Highlands to successfully interpret the exceptional landscape and wildlife found here to my clients. In May 2006 I became a member of HOSTGA and I also qualified as a Scottish Tour Guide Association regional affiliate for Caithness and Sutherland.

| I have been guiding since 1992, have been a member of the
Scottish Tourist Guides Association since 1996 and of HOSTGA since it
was founded. So I have worked with both German and English groups for
many years. On day tours and extended tours throughout Scotland numerous
visitors have enjoyed being shown the many aspects of this fascinating
country tailored to every group’s needs and interests. From walking
on the Isle of Skye, visiting farms, Scottish city tours to special interest
and corporate incentive tours, and of course Inverness, Sutherland and
Caithness excursions – all of this can be realised when you book
my guiding services! |
