I was born and raised in the Highlands, inheriting the mantle of Seanachaidh (or Storyteller) from my mother. From earliest times I learned the span of Highland history, culture, flora and fauna. I later studied Geography, Geology and Scottish History at Glasgow University. Mixing these ingredients with Guide training, entertainment and humour allows me to create successful tours to some of the most stunning locations in the country. I am also qualified in Ancestral Tourism, and have written a number of books including "Roots of Stone" and "Culloden Tales". Why not take a trip in my fully-insured seven-seater? |

| A Seanachaidh – professional historian, folklorist and storyteller, akin to the clan bard in times past. I cover West Coast and Highlands generally with the Kilmartin Glen and Argyll in particular. Tales and tours involve Highland crafts, skills, clothing (plaid wearing and demonstration) wildlife, Gaidhlig language and culture. . |

| Born in Inverness and educated in England, I have spent more than half my life in the N.E. of Scotland. I have always worked with people and love showing visitors the beauties of Scotland and giving them an insight into our history and culture. Whilst training to be a guide, I worked on the open top buses taking people to Culloden, Cawdor Castle and Fort George and in a local winery which makes wines from the products of the countryside. I am a keen hill-walker and have travelled extensively in many countries thereby learning about other cultures.
At university, I studied French and Spanish and am qualified to guide in French. Having trained as a Blue Badge guide, I am happy to guide anywhere in Scotland and particularly enjoy extended tours but also city walking tours and driver-guiding. |

| Born in the south of Scotland but brought up in this area, I have been guiding since 1996. Prior to that I lived in Europe - from whence came the languages! So grateful to be given the opportunity to show my country to visitors and always hope that as I do, they become as "passionate" as I am about Scotland. |

| I was born and brought up in Düsseldorf, Germany. During my work with the Bank I was sent to the HLC Highland Language Center on the Black Isle to improve my English. I fell in love with the surrounding area. Also I found the Scots people very friendly and helpful. That made me more interested in learning about the history, fairy tales and the Clans. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Born and bred in Glasgow, it was sailing on Scotland’s west coast that enlightened me to the beauty and peace of our landscape. It was studying for my ‘Blue Badge’ that revealed how far the Scots have influenced the world through settlement and ingenuity. I continue to be amazed at my country’s place on the global stage and am privileged to host visitors and share this place with those from near or far. Economics has been rooted in my career before making tourist guiding the profession of my choice. Today, I still take a keen interest in the country’s economy but major on the wealth of beauty to be found here in nature, art, architecture, music and our people. As a ‘Blue Badge’ guide I am qualified to guide throughout Scotland and have recently designed several day tours on mainland and island locations for the providers of visitors services in those areas through an organisation called Pride & Passion for Scotland. |

I am proud of our Highland heritage and culture and knowledgeable about its current social and economic situations. I am an avid skier, a keen golfer and enjoy most outdoor activities. My interests include postage stamp collecting, historic buildings, my 5 grandchildren and classical music. |

| I have shared the delights of Scottish life and landscape with visitors to the country for over thirty years. As a professional geologist I began my guiding activities in the 1970’s when I led field trips and study tours to some of the most wild and beautiful places in the Highlands and Islands.
Over the next twenty years my knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of all things Scottish has made me much in demand for summer schools and lectures by some of Scotland’s Universities, both ancient and modern. Subjects ranging from whisky and water to Scottish Country Houses, Golf and Genealogy have entranced and entertained locals and visitors alike. I am a Blue Badge member of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, the only professional geologist to be fully qualified to guide throughout Scotland. I am also a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. |

I was born and grew up in Germany and after graduating from Aberdeen University I have spent my professional life in Scotland, teaching in Secondary Schools and Further Education. A keen traveller myself, I feel privileged to meet people from other countries. I would like to give my guests a deeper insight into the Scottish way of life, touching on a variety of aspects such as family life, education and health care, culture, tradition and outdoor pursuits, employment and migration and how historic events have helped to shape modern day Scotland.

I have a great interest in the early Celtic peoples of Scotland and that romantic era before the Battle of Culloden when clan chiefs controlled the Highlands. My specialities are castles, battle sites and clan lands. I wrote the guidebook for Dunnottar Castle and the Colin Baxter book on Clans and Tartans. Born in the Borders, I now live near Inverness and provide driver/guiding all over Scotland. Winter months are spent arranging holidays for those visiting their clan lands or staying in Scottish castles. I write an occasional blog: 'Living with Clans and Castles'. |

| The North East of Scotland has been my home since 1984. I moved here from Germany, my native country, being attracted by Scotland’s natural beauty and remoteness. Although I am an engineer by profession, I prefer working with people and have been intensely involved with group work in a variety of settings, here and abroad, ever since I moved here. I have travelled a lot, over extended periods of time, but always love returning home to Scotland. Here I am reminded that so many more treasures can be found right on my doorstep. | |||||||||||||||||||||

I started guiding in the mid 1980's and since then have largely dealt with German speaking groups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the occasional English group. Back then there were mainly 7 day + coach tours covering much of the UK but particularly Scotland ( or Ireland) supplemented by occasional small driver guiding or larger incentive groups . Nowadays coach tours are shorter and concentrate more on Scotland and shore excursions from cruise ships calling at Scottish ports provide me with increasing business. I am a qualified Scottish Tour Guide Association Regional Affiliate. |

Raised in Germany, I’ve been very much at home in Scotland since 1973. I spent more than two decades living on remote country estates with my family, working in broadcasting, marketing and as conference interpreter/translator. In latter years I much enjoyed studying Scotland’s history, archaeology, flora and fauna in two degree courses. My heart is firmly in the Highlands and I love sharing some of its secrets with passengers from all over the world. My tours are peppered with legends. anecdotes, topical information and grounded in thorough research. I'm happy to guide anywhere in Scotland - extended tours preferred. |

From early days youth-hostelling in the Highlands I have enjoyed climbing and for 50 years I have skied in Scotland and the Alps. I have produced booklets selling in Grantown Museum: "Battle of Cromdale, End of the 1st Jacobite War in the Highlands" and provided Gaelic Meanings for OS Explorers 418 & 419 (with Neil Campbell's help). As Customs & Excise Officer I worked in over 60 distilleries; later I collected game from Sporting Estates. | I have always loved the Highlands, its history and culture, especially the Inverness area where I was born and raised. I spent seventeen years in Devon and returned in 1986 to live near Culloden Battlefield with my family. My interests are history, art, gardening and above all, people. The opportunity to join several courses for guiding fulfilled these interests and I have been doing full and half-day tours in the Highland region since 1996. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
